I walked through the backstreets of Sapporo’s city center before dawn. The surface of the road was completely frozen due to the cold wave that lasted several days and the snowfall the day before. The temperature on my app showed minus 10 degrees Celsius. Although it was difficult to walk and I was in danger of slipping and falling, this is a daily occurrence in the north. Once you get used to it, it is not so difficult, and it is rather an opportunity to recognize that you are living in nature.
