Earlier I posted about the stone torii gate at Moroha Shrine. This here is the honden, which is the shrine’s main sanctuary. Although Kyoto’s Buddhist temples tend to get more attention than the Shinto shrines, one great thing about the latter from a night photography perspective is that many are open all the time. You can walk right in and take your time appreciating the architecture and the peaceful setting. Just remember to be respectful. Don’t touch anything. These places have great cultural significance. And don’t swing the rope and ring the bell in the middle of the night. That’s just obnoxious!
京都のお寺は神社よりも注目されがちやけど、神社の素晴らしいことは夜でも入ってもいいの結構あんねん。そこの建築や静かな雰囲気をゆっくり楽しめる。諸羽神社はそのような神社の一つや。
