Roppongi’s intersections are inorganic. The hours of the intense nightlife have just begun, and yet the cars hurry around the curves, leaving nothing but a dazzling glow in their wake, and the people crossing the street have blank expressions on their faces, as if they have only their destination in mind. The entertainment district is supposed to be one of the places where people become most human, but here everything is somewhat otherworldly.
